'55 approved, 7 completed under RDDS

Srinagar, Mar 17 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Government is intending to provide separate electric feeders to farmers to operate agriculture pump sets. In response to a query by MLA Rajeev Kumar, the government as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, that out of the 71 identified electric feeders under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), 55 have been awarded, and work on seven feeders has already been completed. “The Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has taken up the segregation work in districts like Kathua, Bishnah, Samba, and Vijaypur, with expected completion dates ranging from June 2025 to October 2025,” the reply stated. “The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has initiated similar projects in Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Pulwama, and Shopian, with expected completion timelines extending to March 2026,” it said, as per KNO. The reply said that the initiative aims to ensure uninterrupted power supply to farmers, boosting agricultural productivity in the region—(KNO)
